Six Reasons Why Women Should Do Squats

It seems like every day I am bombarded with fitness model picks on social media showing off their insanely firm buttocks and tight and firm thighs. I myself have maintained a similar physique and I respect those women showing off what they have.

The squat for me is one of the most grueling exercises that exist, especially if performed correctly, squatting has many benefits and if you can incorporate this exercise into your training routines once or twice a week it will do wonders for your body.

Six Reasons Why Women Should Do Squats

Squats are a core exercise that will help women increase lean sexy muscle mass and burn calories.

In spite of the fact that it is a difficult exercise to perform but the rewards and benefits that squatting offer is well worth the effort it takes to perform this exercise.

Burn more fat in a day

Performing a squat is exercising half of your body, including thighs, buttocks hamstrings quads and calfs which is one of the reasons it takes so much energy and effort, having said that it also means you can increase more lean muscle which will burn more fat, a pound of muscle will burn around 6 calories per day versus fat which burns around 2 calories per day.

Maintain better balance and make daily activities easier

A functional exercise is one that helps facilitate daily activities such as picking up grocery bags, cleaning, bending over to load the dishwasher, taking out the trash or anything else that you do during the day, while these activities may seem insignificant,  performing squats can give you better balance and make your daily activities easier.

Squats do more than improve lower body strength

While squats do build your legs, buttocks, hamstrings, and calves they also help you release important hormones including testosterone, estrogen, and HGH which are vital for muscle growth, this increase in hormones is also important and will help you when you train other muscle groups such as chest, back and arms.

Maintain body mobility as you age

While squats will give you a goddess-like physique,  as you get older squats will also keep you strong and help you maintain bone density, prevent osteoporosis, bone fractures and improve overall flexibility and motion in your ankles and hips.

Prevent injuries

The main reason people get injured is because of weak stabilizer muscles, connective tissue,  and weak ligaments, these are all important to help maintain balance and flexibility.

Firm up your entire body

Not only do squats improve your legs and butt they also work many other muscles in your body including abs, back and chest to some degree, the more muscle you have the better your body is at regulating glucose and metabolizing lipids,  it also regulates insulin sensitivity which can help prevent obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

Too many reasons to not skip leg day

As you can see there are far too many reasons why you do not want to skip leg training, especially squats,  it's a core exercise and just as important as deadlifts, implementing squats into your exercise routine can help you improve your body and after a few months you too can be one of those women turning heads as men glance at your firm butt and muscular thighs.
